it wasn't all that bad.
met a few friends who also don't give too much about it and had some great laughs afterwards.
we talked about how we still remember when only about 7000 took from the emblems and now its more than 11000. we also laughed about how it would look like having jesus and his disciples pass around wine and bread on a plate like that.. all in all it was the same procedure as every year.
This is now the third one we have missed.
However, we drove past the KH here in Wales and it is the first time I have seen any cars in the car park, it was full! Not sure where all the people came from.
have you experienced such?
in my 10 years as a jw i never saw anyone partake, jw or otherwise.
the last annointed in my town died about 15 years ago or so.
I have over the years attended several different denomination of churches for a period. I have also when visitng family of friends attended a church local to them for the Christmas service.
In all of these churches when communion was served they said that anyone who would normally partake in their own church was welcome to partake in theirs.
The KH is the only one I have been to where the same welcome is not extended.
a big part of every memorial i ever went to was given to drumming it home that unless you were anoited you couldn't partake.
and everyone would be watching the "strangers" as their turn came, ripples of horror would go round the congregation if they dared to nibble or sip(!).
... but seriously what is the problem?
What I never understood was who are THEY to judge whether someone should partake or not. Working on the basis that only the anointed should partake how do they know who is anointed or not? It is not for them to say.
It always seemed so daft to pass the bread and wine around and not let anyone have any, what was the point?
how well is this territory being covered?.
how many on here (active jws excluded) received an invitation?.
We didn't, thank goodness
new to the forum, just wanted to say hi, will tell my brief story sometime, happy at the moment just getting to know you all!!!!.

80% accept blood transfusion.
i added a new article on my blog citing a 1995 medical study finding something interesting about blood transfusion and young folks among jehovahs witnesses.
the study shows that at least 80% (5 out of 6) accept allogeneic red blood cell transfusions or else their witness parents accept it on their behalf and without need of court-order.
My daughter is a specialist childrens' nurse and in every situation without exception the parents have accepted blood transfusions for their babies. They say do it but don't tell me.
I realize that this is only a small example but that said in all the time that she has been nursing there hasn't been anyone who refused a blood transfusion for their child when it was lifesaving.
hi, i'm not new here, been lurking forever, just a new poster.
i was a jw for 25 years, did it all, been out now for 7 years, for the most part have healed pretty good.....but some things can't seem to shake.
the thing i'm most regretful of is raising my children in that cult, if i could just re-do that, i think i could be totally over the trauma of the 25 years i was in.
Welcome, I am fairly new too. I don't post often but I read what other people post as much as I can. I have learned a lot, in particular what a great and caring bunch of people we have on here.
I am glad things are working for you and your family now and how wonderful that you are all out so that you enjoy "normal" things together. The scars do take time to heal but you are in a good place here.
Sometimes I just fall about laughing at the great sense of humour some of these posters have.
they caught up with me at the meeting today which was the first one i have been to an a couple months.
i also missed the co's visit and the circuit assembly and havent been out in fs in 8 months or more.
i only went today for my wifes benefit i personally have a hard time listening to thier one sided warped view of the world.
One of my husband's stock replies to questions like "do you want to join the Ministry School" or "Will you start handing in a report" he used to say "I will think about it". This seemed to work well as he wasn't saying yes which is what they wanted to hear, he wasn't saying no which would then make them start questioning and pushing him into something he didn't want. It just always bought him more time as they never had a reply to that.
This may help you in just buying more time until and if you are ready to talk to them.
